Six months before Dustin Diamond passed away in February 2021, he was forced to put his longtime home in Port Washington, Wisconsin, up for sale after a bank threatened foreclosure over unpaid installments.
More than two years later, on May 27, 2022, it was finally sold for $276,400 to a real estate developer with plans to demolish the structure and turn it into some type of commercial property, The Post can report.
As for the exact ground plans, that remains unknown. The Post has reached out for comment.
Best known for his role as Screech Powers in “Saved by the Bell,” Diamond owed Wells Fargo $269,326, records show. He had initially put a $68,000 down payment on the house in 2003 when he bought the four-bedroom property for $340,000.
Before his death, Diamond revealed in an interview with TMZ that he didn’t understand how he owed such a large sum and that a broken water pipe flooded his basement causing him to lose 30 years of memories.
“Foreclosure means nothing when a house is destroyed … with my items that I lost,” Diamond said at the time. “Now it seems like Wells Fargo is trying to kick me when I’m down.”
on Feb. On January 1, 2021, Diamond lost her battle with extensive stage four colon cancer just one month after your diagnosis. She was 44 years old.
The home, which spans 3,000 square feet and sits on a half-acre, has since been on and off the market until its recent sale. Only exterior photos of the home were listed above with the description: “major rehab project.”
“The property has been vacant for over a year,” the listing description continues. “Ideal for investor or handyman owner.”
Now, for the first time since his death, two viral videos takes viewers inside the house, which paints a very powerful picture of Diamond’s life.
Described as a hoarder’s den, sprawling mess throughout the video is displayed in the home office, and in one of the property’s bedrooms and bathrooms.
Clothes are scattered, several bottles have been collected, medication and pill bottles are seen in the bathroom sink and tub, and what appears to be feces on the bathroom floor.
It’s unclear if the abandoned house was vandalized or even dealt with by squatters in the time since her passing, or if this was the state Diamond left the house in.
“Honestly, this is exactly how I hoped Screech would live after high school,” one user joked.
“That’s so sad, is it really yours? Did he really live like this? another user asked.
“He was our neighbor in Port Washington but he rarely left his house,” said another user in the comments section of the video.
According to Ashley, who gave a tour of the house, the video was recorded while the house was still on the market. Her real estate agent had taken her inside to see the property.
