Pokemon’s next main entry Pokémon Scarlet and Violet It comes out on Switch next month and as you may have seen, the previews, including our Nintendo Life one, have already been released.
Although we are a bit worried about the performance of the game, the gameplay and the new features are really exciting. If you haven’t seen our Alex Olney preview yet, here he is once again:
In addition to our Nintendo Life practice, many other outlets have also shared their thoughts. So here is a selection of some other thoughts:
GoNintendo editor Kevin Cassidy said that his own practice with the game flew by, which is probably a good thing:
“I’ve only scratched the surface with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and honestly, that’s what excites me the most. I didn’t see anything that worried or bothered me. I just found features I wanted to try, areas I wanted to dive into, and new Pokémon to catch.” Like Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it’s incredibly difficult to grasp the scope and scale of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet in a quick demo session.My time with the game flew by, which is obviously a good sign of what is yet to come. If 2 hours can pass in the blink of an eye, imagine how quickly time will pass when we actually play!”
IGN said there’s enough new content to shake up the series:
“Overall, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet seem to shake up the traditional Pokémon formula in more ways than one, with an open world to freely explore, three stories to tackle on your own terms, four-player co-op, and even smaller details probably not even Haven’t even figured out yet how to remove forced battles from NPCs. new here to make me anticipate a new Pokémon journey once Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are released on November 18.”
our friends in eurogamer also expressed their concerns about the performance of the game in the pre-release version:
“Menus are noticeably sluggish, and animations are very choppy, with NPCs moving like flickering book drawings even at very close range, and city buildings charging as you walk through its streets. Once again , we’re here before launch and things can of course change, but I’ve played a few Pokemon trailers now, and Scarlet and Violet are definitely the hardest feelings of all.”
Polygon said the new entries felt like a “legitimate open world”, comparing the level of freedom with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild:
“The Pokémon games have always told you where to go, what to do, and sometimes even how to do it, keeping some aspects esoteric (cough, intravenous training) hidden from all but the most hardcore gamers. These are usually guided experiences and rarely, if ever, overwhelming. of what i played scarlet It was just the opposite: He explained everything to me, then he let me go. And last but not least, there are the thoughts of the serebii.net webmaster joe merrick full breakdown of your own game. He thinks the new entries could be a “big” step forward for the series:
“All in all, in the very first play Pokémon Scarlet & Violet looks like it has the potential to be the big step forward for the franchise that some were hoping for. There are so many surprises yet to be revealed and if the potential holds up throughout the game, Pokemon may have hit a new peak we’re so desperate to play more, to see what else is in Paldea, and if the full game continues with what the little snippet we played shows, then it really is an exciting time for fans of Pokémon. Roll on November 18.”
