CD Projekt Red announced that detail in a video earlier today, but at the same time it also announced a bunch of new projects. now we know that the witcher 4 will be part of a trilogy to include The Witcher 5 and 6and that another previously unknown game called Canis Majoris Project is under development externally of CDPR. source story: Much to the delight of Witcher fans, it is stated that CD Projekt Red is set to announce the release date for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
The rumor comes from a Reddit user who just a few hours ago aware (opens in a new tab) in The Witcher 3 Subreddit (opens in a new tab) that the release date for the shiny next-gen versions would be revealed “within 24 hours.” This is unconfirmed and therefore should be taken with a grain of salt, but it ties in nicely with CD Projekt Group’s “strategy update” which the company has scheduled for later today (opens in a new tab). Fueling further speculation about the release date reveal, several CD Projekt staff members have been hyping the strategy call on Twitter.

With a release date announcement potentially just hours away, Witcher fans have been sharing your emotion (opens in a new tab) on Reddit. Many players have put off replaying the game in order to take advantage of next-gen improvements like faster load times and ray-traced visuals. “Oh finally I’ve been holding off on another Witcher 3 game for 2 years,” says one user. “I completed the main game during its release year. I just re-downloaded it and am waiting for the update,” another replies.
Some have been avoiding the game altogether so they can experience it for the first time with all the modern bells and whistles. “I’ve been looking forward to my first game,” comments user Alice_June. “I really want to do it, I’m going in almost completely blind, and I just need to wait a little longer.”
The next-gen port of The Witcher 3 was sleepless all the way back in 2020. Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red announced that it was developing the title in-house, and therefore delayed its release to allow more time to work on the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions. It is currently targeting a Q4 release (October to December).
